He We Grow Again

Yep, as of today, we have over 550 consignors signed up for our Fall 2009 Encores and More North sale. When you consider that we are adding about 30 consignors a day, we could definitely have 800 consignors for this sale.

What does this mean for you?

1. It's going to be HUGE! Not only does it look like we will have more regular consignors, but our VIP tagging program has been busier than ever before. We now have four taggers working non-stop.

2. It pays to be a consignor! Don't wait to shop with the public, just consign at least 15 items and you can shop with the consignors a full day before the public gets in. Yes, the consignor presale is wild, but it is SO fun and many people use it as a fun night out with friends!

3. It pays (literally) to be a worker! If you sign up for at least 3 shifts plus sort, you not only get to shop a full day before the consignors, you also earn a $50 gift certificate to shop with. You will be shopping with 90 other workers instead of 800 other consignors. You get to shop the best selection and in a nice, relaxed environment versus the busy presale.

4. Don't forget that we are accepting spring/summer clothing during RESTOCK drop off which is Monday, August 17-Wednesday, August 19. Not only is this is a great opportunity to get some clothes for your little ones while it is still hot, but you can also buy ahead for next summer. Encores North will literally be your one stop shopping experience!

Hello. I am a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, trained in a Nationally recognized program sponsered by SafeKids, and I wanted to ask you to PLEASE require all carseats that are sold to be checked for expiration date. The expiration date does not have to do with recalls, so telling people to check for recalls isnt enough. At your original encores and more sale, I saw a carseat there manufactured in 1985! These seats are NOT safe for children, and put you as the seller at risk if someone gets hurt in one.

It is very easy to check the expiration date for a carseat, as it is either stamped on the back of the seat or there will be a printed manufacture date on a label. The seats are good for 6 years after their manufacture date. Since carseats are exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold in the cars, the plastic degrades, and after 6 years of this, they are unsafe in a crash.

Please, take this seriously!

Thank you,

Hey Rachel,

Our sales are actually owned by different people and at Encores and More North we actually don't allow any seats older than 5 years. We actually have an equipment crew that goes through and checks not only expiration dates, but for recalls on all equipment we sell. THANKS so much for posting this for others to see though and I would LOVE for to come check us out and see the differences. Please ask for me, would love to meet you!
